This class is ongoing and each lesson will include vocabulary, phonics, reading, comprehension skills, and writing/grammar components. We will use Wonders Grade 1 Reading/Writing Workshop (McGraw-Hill) for support. No textbook is needed, materials will be shared on-screen. Additional support worksheets or activities will be available between classes for support, but the book itself cannot be shared.

Week of December 20: In the Wild - vocabulary, long o phonics sound, nonfiction, main idea/key details, go/do
Week of December 27: Insects - vocabulary, long i phonics sound, fantasy, point of view, see/saw
Week of January 3: Working with Animals - vocabulary, long e, nonfiction, sequencing, word choice/adverbs
