Learner progress will be assessed by the teacher daily during each lesson as she sees that students are becoming comfortable, independent and fluent in their reading. Comprehension will be monitored regularly through questions and answers as well as activities on the slides that require students to demonstrate understanding. Writing will improve as students keep a regular journal that will show their progression over time. Parents can also assess their own child's progress as they become more independent during their participation in class, their own independent reading and writing, as well as how they are using learned information, reading techniques and improved speaking outside of class.Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
▬▬▬▬▬▬ ⭐Course Overview⭐ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ Welcome to our Beginning Readers English class! In this course, we will focus on enhancing our reading skills at a starting level. Each week we will explore a new story from Levels A, B and C of the Reading A-Z series. Our stories will follow the exciting adventures of children, animals, and other fictional characters as they discover the world around them. We will cover a variety of topics including family, school, the park, the zoo, friends, pets, and more! During our weekly classes, we will work on letter activities, vocabulary review, story reading, comprehension, and writing. The teacher will present all the content through slides, ensuring that students can see everything clearly. While some writing will be on the screen, some exercises will require students to use their writing tools on their computer or have paper, pencils, crayons, or markers at home. We believe that reading should be fun, so we will explore each adventure in an engaging way by discussing what's happening, exploring our curiosity, and relating what we learn to our daily lives. 📅 Are you looking for a class that meets 1x, 2x, 3x, or 4x per week? Send us a message about a class frequency change. 💬 We can also accommodate learners and families wanting full immersion vs. bilingual classes. Send us a message to learn more! ▬▬▬▬▬▬ 📚Weekly Course Examples📚 ▬▬▬▬▬▬ Each class will be interactive and will encourage students to engage with their peers and the teacher. Our lessons will consist of talking, writing, reading, and completing activities on the slides. Our primary goal is to help students gain a better understanding of vocabulary and reading, which they can apply to their daily lives. Our first four weeks of class will cover exciting topics such as "The Big Cat," "Carlos Goes to School," "Hamster Home," and "Maria Goes to School." Students are welcome to join and leave at any time, as there is no previous information needed in order to succeed in the current week’s lesson. If you’d like to know exactly what week we are in (and that week’s topic), please send us a message to inquire. ▬▬▬▬▬▬ 🌍Target Student🌍 ▬▬▬▬▬▬ In this class, we will start with Beginning Readers (Levels A-C), and students may exhibit some characteristics such as pretending to read familiar stories, singing the ABCs but not identifying all letters, recognizing and naming more letters with exposure to print and instruction, identifying the front cover, turning pages one by one, showing how text progresses from left to right and top to bottom, identifying uppercase letters more easily than lowercase letters, knowing some sounds of frequently seen or previously taught letters, recognizing environmental print, attempting to track print with their finger, and beginning to play with words. We look forward to having you join our English class and start your reading journey with us!

Beginning as a program serving students in PreK-2nd grade, we have since expanded our class offerings to include students up to 12th grade. Our primary focus is to promote literacy through the encouragement of world language learning. We teach and enhance literacy skills in multiple languages which currently include: English, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Russian. We also include classes in the areas of S.T.E.A.M.
