ESL Private Tutoring: Preschool (Once a Week)

Student will practice sight words, reading simple sentences, and retelling short stories. I give private tutoring students ample opportunity to interact with me through natural dialogue. We will practice how to answer simple questions, with simple sentence frames such as: "My name is _____________." "I am ______ years old." Simple sentence frames help students develop confidence in their ability to speak English. We will also practice the sounds made by the twenty-six letters in the alphabet, which is beginning phonics instruction. 
When a student makes pronunciation errors, I correct them in a positive and encouraging manner. This class is intended for students who already know the following: 
~alphabet
~color words
~shape words
~basic body part words
~basic animal words
~number words 0-20

Week 1
~5 min. Welcome/Warm-up (weather, date, etc.)
~10 min. Story and retell, sight words (with, girl, boy)/make sentences, count letters, identify vowels, etc.
~10 practice comparing words, singing words, counting
~5 min. Closing, review

Week 2
~5 min. Welcome/Warm-up (weather, date, etc.)
~10 min. Story and retell, review last week's sight words/new sight words (sun, book, me )/make sentences, count letters, identify vowels, etc.
~10 practice comparing words, singing words, counting
~5 min. Closing, review

Week 3
~5 min. Welcome/Warm-up (weather, date, etc.)
~10 min. Story and retell, review last week's sight words/new sight words (see, up, big )/make sentences, count letters, identify vowels, etc.
~10 practice comparing words, singing words, counting
~5 min. Closing, review

Week 4
~5 min. Welcome/Warm-up (weather, date, etc.)
~10 min. Story and retell, review last week's sight words/new sight words (small, egg, look )/make sentences, count letters, identify vowels, etc.
~10 practice comparing words, singing words, counting
~5 min. Closing, review
