📚Does your child enjoy reading stories? Come to my story time class and learn new English words in a relaxed, friendly session. I have lots of stories at different levels ready to share with my students. I am a qualified teacher from the Uk 🇬🇧 Lessons will be presented through a powerpoint on the screen, so the children can clearly read the words. 🧚🏽We can talk about the pictures, what we think will happen next and answer some questions about the story. We use the story as a way to practise speaking English in a relaxed, friendly lesson. I have Oxford Reading Tree books and many more. We can talk about your child's interests and needs before the lesson. 🍎I have taught ESL students for over 6 years. I know how to increase children's confidence in speaking and reading English. In our first lesson I will informally assess the student's reading and speaking level (don't worry this won't be a test! just a friendly way of making sure the content of the lessons aren't too difficult) ❤️I am funny, patient and kind. I like to create fun, engaging lessons, where it is absolutely OK to make mistakes! I will always help to keep the story going. This is a 1 to 1 class as I want my children to have the maximum opportunity to talk and practise using their English. Siblings are welcome to join in however the lesson will be tailored to the registered student. What will the lesson be like? 1) Vocabulary or letter sound review - includes any useful warm up to the story. 2) Guided reading (depending on the student's level. independent or shared reading with me. This will include talking about the characters and illustrations. 3) Story quiz time -a chance to talk about our favourite part of the story or have a fun quiz about the story. Pre-Requisites
It is helpful if students know how to read the letters of the alphabet and can read some basic words, but I will assess this on lesson 1 to find out how I can best help the student.
