In this introductory ESL (English as a Second Language) small group class, students will practice their conversational skills by using the question and answer method (Q & A) in a relaxed and casual environment. Students will learn the basics of the English language and practice complete sentences using conversational skills. We will work on the following: introductions, greetings, basic English words, sentence structures with questions and answers/responses. We will also work on vocabulary and definitions as well as proper pronunciation and phonics. Vocabulary, sentence patterns/structures, proper pronunciation, comprehension, phonics, basic reading skills and speaking skills will be practiced throughout the lesson. Students will also be able to converse with one another and practice social and speaking skills. Flash cards, presentation slides, along with short videos may be used in class to enhance the learning environment.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their English conversation skills along with social and speaking skills.
