In this carnival-themed escape room, learners will solve a series of riddles that lead to different rides and attractions at a kooky carnival! Upon arrival at each location, we will solve a puzzle to receive the next riddle. We will have to work together as a team to find the hidden key! Before class, learners will print out a Puzzle Log and a Carnival Decoder Wheel. These will be used throughout the class to help us with the various challenges we will face. Learners will find patterns, decode messages, solve logic puzzles, and use creative and lateral thinking all while going on an epic adventure!

Parental Guidance
The clues in this escape room are given by Zoltar the “fortune teller”. While the riddles themselves are written more in the form of advice than fortunes, this still may be something that some families are not comfortable with.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! My name is Cera (sounds like "Sarah"), and I am a highly experienced teacher with a passion for education and learning. I am a certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist and have completed coursework towards a Master's in Education with a focus on teaching multiple subjects to students in grades K-8.
I have been working in the field of education for the past ten years, and have a wealth of experience teaching reading and writing, as well as English as a second language. I have worked with students from elementary to middle school, both in the classroom and online, and have over five years of experience tutoring elementary and middle school students in English Language Arts.
In addition to my expertise in reading and writing, I am also interested in using storytelling and elements of game design to make learning more engaging and interactive. I love to create escape rooms and other types of mysteries, treasure hunts, and games that inspire learners to think critically and creatively.
In all of my classes, I aim to develop skills in communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, and strive to create learning experiences that are both challenging and fun. Whether it's an escape room or a book club, I believe that learning should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience, and I look forward to sharing that experience with your learners!
In my free time I love to read, crochet, decorate cookies and look for tiny doors hidden in trees.
