In this combined murder mystery-escape room, students will each take on the role of a character involved in the murder. Together they will work to figure out who is responsible for the murder by analyzing clues, solving puzzles, and playing a character. Students will experience a traditional escape room experience with the twist that they will have a script to read for their character and that they will have to figure out who the murderer is!

Here is the story: On this solemn day, you have all gathered to mourn your beloved Augusta’s death at only the age of thirty-two. To the world, she was Queen Augusta, but to those close to her, she was a troubled soul. As you gather in her quarters after her funeral, you all anxiously await to hear Augusta’s final will and testament to hear who will claim her throne. Some of you believe the will is a fake and need to see it with your own eyes to believe it. It is almost time to gather in the foyer to hear it read out loud when you realize the doors are locked shut and you are stuck inside. If you aren’t there how will you prove the will is a fake before the news is released to the world? Wait… maybe Augusta’s death was suspicious… maybe one of you was responsible? Hurry, the grandfather clock is ticking.

Information for the class:
 - 5 minutes for introductions and explanation of the escape room
 - 45 minutes to escape and solve the murder
