Class Experience

Our society is being faced with the enormous challenge of addressing climate change. Today’s youth understand that this issue will impact their future-- but what can we do to make a difference?

We offer the full course titled Environmental Justice for Our World that includes eight modules for the entire course. This one-time class, Environmental Justice: Regenerative Agriculture and Food Systems, is one of the modules of that course for those who prefer to register for the classes individually.

The goal of the entire course is for students to gain a holistic understanding of environmental justice, which deals with how environmental problems affect society and how we can have an impact. Environmental problems tend to impact some communities more than others, so in the entire course, learners gain knowledge about how these communities can advocate for justice. During the interactive classes, learners will have the opportunity to acquire information, ask questions, and discuss their ideas. Optional assignments can reinforce their learning. No prerequisites are required except an interest in environmentalism, social justice, and regenerative systems!

The full course addresses various environmental problems and will focus on what we can do to become changemakers. We discuss the climate movement, regenerative farming and food systems, indigenous rights, water pollution issues, and zero waste. Learners discover the basics of planting seeds, and how gardening and farming is an actionable way to interact with and regenerate our environment.

This particular class, Environmental Justice: Regenerative Agriculture and Food Systems, focuses on issues in our food system and how they can be addressed by regenerative agriculture. We’ll discuss why building soil health is important for solving a variety of environmental problems, including climate change. This is a great class on its own, or in addition to some of the other individual classes as part of the Environmental Justice series offered by Fearless Farmers.
