Writing can be difficult. Join this 1:1 English Writing Tutoring class and let me help you learn the academic rules of writing, grammar, and punctuation in a creative way, interactive way that's fun. Write with excitement and confidence. THIS CLASS IS COMPREHENSIVE AND UNIQUE: With time, it covers editing skills, parts of speech (the building blocks of sentences) paragraphs, and dialogue. It covers many kinds of creative writing, plus aspects of academic essays, poems, and more. All of it will use proper standard English rules. (LIST OF TOPICS FURTHER DOWN) I use Canva to create interactive lessons with moving parts, and games that students love and then slip in the academic stuff with it. The writing assignments are based on the lesson and created in Google Docs. When that is finished, they are rewarded with choosing a sticker for their own personal sticker page. They LOVE this! This course blends creative writing that is fun with the academic rules they need to learn to write properly. Students dislike essays, and they seldom get to write about topics they like. Here, they learn what they need to know while learning to love writing. They will still learn essay content, but it will be in the middle of fun. STRUCTURE: Each session begins with a focused lesson, followed by engaging interactive and gamified activities using the free version of Canva. Students will enjoy board games, puzzles, escape rooms, and interactive worksheets that reinforce the topic. To conclude, students complete a writing assignment where I work closely with them to ensure they apply the lesson's concepts correctly. DURATION: Each lesson is tailored to the student's pace. Some students may complete activities and writing assignments by the end of the class, while others may take longer. I prioritize understanding over rushing through material. GOOGLE DOCS AND CANVA: Students will collaborate in Google Docs for writing assignments and in Canva for the activities, both with real-time feedback. WHAT ELSE IS INCLUDED? Personalized feedback and support anytime the parent would like. Online sticker sheet and completion certificates for motivation.
