The club will focus on practical spelling skills through interactive exercises, games, and spelling challenges. What Topics Will You Cover? Basic Spelling Rules: Common patterns and rules for spelling. Prefixes and Suffixes: How they affect spelling and meaning. Homophones and Homographs: Words that sound or look alike but have different meanings. Advanced Patterns: More complex spelling patterns and exceptions. Spelling in Context: Using spelling skills in writing and everyday use. ⇢ Week of October 2: Mastering Basic Spelling Rules Focus on fundamental spelling rules such as consonant doubling, silent letters, and vowel patterns. This week helps solidify foundational spelling skills. ⇢ Week of October 9: Exploring Prefixes and Suffixes Learn how prefixes and suffixes modify the meaning of words and affect spelling. This session provides practice with common affixes and their usage. ⇢ Week of October 16: Homophones and Homographs Identify and differentiate between homophones and homographs through interactive activities. This session enhances understanding of words that sound or look alike but have different meanings. ⇢ Week of October 23: Advanced Spelling Patterns Dive into more complex spelling patterns and exceptions, such as silent letters in advanced vocabulary. This week challenges students to apply their spelling knowledge to more difficult words. How is Your Class Structured? The class is structured with weekly interactive sessions.
