Beginner Level
Learning letters and more importantly letter sounds is the precursor to reading. In this workshop we will meet each week to review letters and find objects and words that make the corresponding letter sounds - not in order. Section 1: Week 1: Letter sounds TBD Week 2: Letter sounds TBD Week 3: Letter sounds TBD Week 4: Letter sounds TBD **It does not matter if you enroll in only one section or both. We do not review letters in alphabetical order.** Each class will begin with introductions followed by a short story. We will spend the rest of the time practicing letters sounds through repetition and games. Children will be encouraged to find objects in their home, recognize letters that match the sound, identify and match photos, and listen to sentences and short stories with words and characters that use each letter. Lessons will be presented with PowerPoint slides and graphics. I know online classes can be challenging for preschoolers but each child will be encouraged to participate fully and respectfully. This is a class that students can enroll in more than once for review and more practice. When the class is over, each child should able to identify 13+ letters, repeat each letter sound, and match letter sounds to specifics photos. **I try to end each class on time; however, some classes may last longer than the time specified. If you need to log your student off, please do so.

Supply List
Each student should have a full set of alphabets for each class. This set can be ABC magnets, blocks, or cutouts -something the child can pick up and show. I also request students come to class with play-doh on Thursdays for sensory time learning and play (making a letter and sharing with the class).
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
