Welcome to Part 1 of our engaging Kindergarten/First Grade ELA course, where young learners embark on a journey to become confident readers and writers. Course Highlights: -Solidifying CVC: We'll begin by mastering Consonant-Vowel-Consonant (CVC) words, a crucial stepping stone in reading and writing. -Exploring Digraphs and Diphthongs: Dive into the fascinating world of digraphs and diphthongs, where we'll uncover the secrets of letter combinations and their unique sounds. -Conquering Blends: Conquer blends that add richness to our language and enhance your child's reading fluency. -High-Frequency Heroes: Discover high-frequency words (not sight words) that will empower your young reader. -Reading Adventures: Explore simple stories and build comprehension skills. -Writing Adventures: In every class, your child will have the opportunity to write, from crafting sentences to labeling their drawings. We'll explore different writing styles and formats. -Presentation Skills: We'll foster confidence by encouraging students to present their work to the class, promoting effective communication and self-expression. -Interactive Learning: Engage in discussions, group activities, and presentations. -Common Core Aligned: Our curriculum aligns to Common Core standards, ensuring that your child's learning experience is both enriching and academically sound.
