Class Experience

Welcome to Outschool ESL assessment for ESL students. This is a 1:1 meeting where each student's English is assessed based on their reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills. The session will begin with some warm-up questions for ice-breaking, such as talking about each learner's aspirations, to casual talk about the weather, favorite color, sports played, etc.

Learners will then ease into some vocabulary to determine how they do with recogizing words. During this time, learners will also be asked to create sentences to any random words appointed by the teacher. Along side this, learners will also engage in reading a few short passages from one or two pieces of literature provided on hand. Each student is required to read aloud, answer any questions about the material, and share any reflections they have of the reading.

Last but not least, depending on the level of each learner, the writing section will involve constructing sentences to check on flow, grammar, spelling, verb tenses, etc. Hope to see some of you young learners soon!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello everyone! I am so excited to be here. I have a master's degree in elementary education. I am a person who thrives on helping others to grow and change. I love working with children, have a lot of experience working with them in numerous ways. After graduating from college, I wanted to explore and experience as much of the field of education as possible. For 10 years, I worked as a tutor, a teacher, an academic coordinator and a manager in a private school in Korea. I aim to administer an English proficiency test tailored for students learning English as a foreign language. Drawing upon my prior managerial experience, wherein I conducted interviews for selective enrollment of children, I am well-equipped to design an effective assessment. My approach to the assessment is not just about evaluating their language skills but also about creating a positive and enjoyable learning experience. Looking forward seeing you in my lesson! :)
