Hello families! I am so very excited to meet you and be your new teacher! I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Reading, English, and Language Arts minor from Sam Houston State University and a Masters in Education/ Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University!
I have been teaching for over 18 years which has included Pre-K thru college English. I am also certified to teach Early Childhood through 8th grade. I also hold my TESOL/ ESL license. I am currently an RELA instructional coach in my local district. In addition, I am an online virtual teacher and an English college instructor part time.
My true passion as a teacher is creating lifelong learners. I absolutely love teaching all aspects of literacy which includes reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I strive to make your child’s learning fun and engaging! I want all of my students to be motivated and enjoy their learning while being able to also make real-life connections. This is so important for students as it helps them to become critical thinkers. I was born and raised in Texas! I have 6 amazing kids and just found out we have grandbaby #1 on the way! I also have my energetic Husky, Max, who is another one of our babies. In my free time, I love reading, trying out new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with my family. I look forward to meeting your daughter or son in class very soon!
