Empowering Girls: Building Positive Relationships
In this 2-week interactive course, girls aged 11-14 will learn to recognize relational aggression, like exclusion and rumors. Through discussions and activities, they’ll build skills to foster healthy friendships and stand up for others.

Beginner Level
This class focuses on interactive talks and group work. Each session adds to the last, helping students grasp complex social interactions while offering useful tools to enhance relationships and encourage kindness. Students will take part in discussions to practice resolving conflicts in a safe and supportive setting.

Introduction to Aggression and Course Overview
Course goals and layout summary. Introduction to aggression: different kinds of aggression (physical, verbal, and relational). Explore real-life situations and identify aggressive actions. Briefly explain the roles of the aggressor, the target, and the bystander.

Lesson 2:
The Roles in Aggression and Challenging Unhealthy Norms
Look into the relationships between the aggressor, the target, and the bystander. Talk about how empathy helps people support others (upstanders). Analyze the social rules and expectations for girls and find the unhealthy norms that need to be challenged.

Lesson 3:
Friendships and Popularity
Look at how healthy friendships differ from unhealthy ones. Identify signs of relationships that are unbalanced or controlling. Understand the difference between good popularity, which comes from respect, and bad popularity, which comes from power.

Lesson 4:
Conflict Resolution, Self-Esteem, and Wrap-Up
Improve your skills in resolving conflicts and communicating assertively. Take part in activities that boost your self-esteem. Think about what you've learned in the course and make a personal plan to build healthy relationships in the future.

Parental Guidance
This class involves discussions around friendship and negative behaviors. There will be sensitive topics, such as bullying, exclusion, and manipulation, that may be upsetting for some learners. Parents should be aware that the class will address these topics in a supportive and constructive manner, providing strategies for dealing with them in real-life situations.
