Emotional Intelligence for Teens
This is a 4 week class where we go in depth into all 4 areas of Emotional IQ. Teens will learn about what Emotional IQ is and how it affects our daily lives and understanding of the world.

1 hour per week. There will be small activities and discussions between weekly lessons. There will also be assigned discussion posts between the weeks.Class Experience
In this class, students will learn through discussion, activities, and other interaction. Students will interact with one another and the teacher through the online platform, interacting in the video classroom and the discussion chat. Week 1 - will be focused on INTRApersonal knowledge - knowing the self Week 2 - will be focused on INTERpersonal knowledge - knowing others Week 3 - will be focused on adaptability, or how we handle change or what others throw our way Week 4 - will focus on our stress management abilities
Learning Goals
By the end of the 4 weeks, students will have a better understanding of Emotional Intelligence, as well as ways to handle their emotions and the emotions of others.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Due to the nature of discussing emotional intelligence, we will touch on the topics of identifying very big, deep emotions (ie depression, anxiety, explosive anger, etc). Though none of these are the focus of this class, these feelings will likely come up in discussion.
Supply List
The only materials needed for the students are paper/notebook & pen/pencil.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
