Emeraldalicious and Sparkle Wand Craft!
In this one time 30 minute class, we will have a blast reading Emeraldalicious and then make a sparkle wand!

Join me in a reading of an all time favorite book, Emeraldalicious! We will hear all about her adventures, and create a sparkle wand just like hers! In this class, we will do a picture walk of the book before reading, read the fabulous book with fluency and expression. After the reading we will have a discussion on fiction story elements, and go over the characters, setting, problem and solution, along with talking about our favorite part. We will also get to create our very own sparkle wand, following along with me as I get to make one too! I can't wait!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their comprehension skills by listening to a story being read out loud. They will also get to practice listening and following directions as we make our sparkle wands.

To make a sparkle wand , students will need the following: -Green craft paper -Stick -Pink tissue paper -School glue -Scissors -Pen -Green twine or ribbon -Glitter

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I love teaching, I have been teaching for 13 years. 10 years in Kindergarten and 3 years in 2nd grade. Reading was my favorite subject when I was in school and is now my favorite subject to teach! I love teaching kids how to read, seeing the light bulb go off for a student, it makes their eyes sparkle. Helping kids to become better readers and build their confidence makes my heart full :)
