4 in-class hoursClass Experience
In the first lesson, students will learn how to do different embroidery stitches including running stitch, backstitch, chain stitch and satin stitch. We will also discuss how to use the embroidery hoop, transferring a pattern onto fabric (this will be a demonstration only), threading the needle and knotting the thread. The second lesson will be students following along with the teacher as she uses the previously learned stitches to create a simple picture. This picture will be very simple, and geometric so the students can simply draw it onto their fabric. The final lesson will be helping students choose a pattern or picture to draw, and planning the different stitches and colors they will use. This will be a lesson where the teacher is mostly there to help answer questions/chat as the students work on their own projects.
