Class Experience

In this class, the learners will learn new vocabulary words and practice speaking English by talking about different topics. The learners will discuss a weekly topic with other learners and the teacher. 

Learners will also learn and practice an English grammar skill each week. The skill will be introduces with examples, then the learners will practice using the skill by completing sentences. The learners will make their own sentences and then work with a partner or group to complete a conversation or writing using the grammar skill. The learners will then have a conversation with their classmates using the skill to discuss the weekly topic. Key vocabulary words will also be introduced. These activities will be based on the English levels of the learners.

 The learners will improve their English conversational skills through discussion and grammar practice. The best way to learn English is to practice speaking English. 

The learners will take turns talking about the topic. Each learner will be able to ask other students questions and answer questions that they are asked. The learners may bring something that represents each weekly topic to talk about.

Weekly Topics:

Week 1: Introductions, hobbies
             Using subject and object pronouns correctly

Week 2:  School Days
              Using present tense verbs            

Week 3: Seasons and Holidays 
             Using in, at, and on correctly

Week 4: Favorite books
              Adjectives

Week 5: A pet or a pet you want to have
               Possessive pronouns

Week 6: Favorite Memories
               Past tense verbs

Week 7: Plan your perfect vacation
               Future Tense Verbs (going to)

Week 8: Habits 
           Using Will and Won't

Week 9: Indoor and Outdoor Activities
              Present Continuous Verbs

Week 10:  Favorite Foods/ Desserts
                 

Week 11:  Ordering at a Restaurant
                 Polite words/ adverbs

Week 12: Grammar Review
                Describe your favorite movie or tv show and convince your 
                 classmates to watch it
