Do you dig science experiments and STEM challenges? This self-paced class lets learners dive into fun challenges while flexing those brain muscles. Get ready for an adventure-packed journey as you explore, problem-solve, and have a blast along the way! How does this work? This class is a self-paced class, so there are no live meetings. Instead, you will receive 8 pre-recorded lessons that walk learners through 8 STEM or Science activities. Learners will then have the opportunity to complete each activity on their own time and report their findings back to the class in the classroom page. Learners will share pictures of their experiment or STEM challenge, as well as the data they collected during the experiments. What Scientific challenges will be included in the class? Lesson 1: Tin Foil Boats Lesson 2: Marshmallow Catapult Lesson 3: Cup Tower Lesson 4: Homemade Sun Dial & Sun Print Art Lesson 5: Bottle Flipping Lesson 6: Water Balloon Skydiving Lesson 7: Umbrella Challenge Lesson 8: Leakproof Bag What topics will be covered? Each lesson will provide learners with the opportunity to explore the following Science concepts: Matter Buoyancy Density Angles Force Sun Shadows Earth rotation Animals & Shelter And more! Learners will explore buoyancy as they explore the effect of different shaped boats in the water.
Lesson 2:
Catapults
Learners will explore angles and force as they create a catapult and try to move objects.
Lesson 3:
Cup Tower (with a twist)
Learners will complete a cup stacking challenge with a twist! Learners will learn to problem solve as they complete 3 unique tasks.
Lesson 4:
Sun Dials
Learners will learn about the sun and time as they create a sun dial.
