US Grade 1 - 3
Students will engage in various hands-on activities that focus on a math concept each week. Each lesson will include step by step modeling and practice. This class is great for beginner mathematicians who are working on understanding number sense. This class will gradually progress in difficulty. You will notice that we will work on building a solid math foundation and then move on to more challenging concepts later in the year. Learning Goals
Students will become comfortable with the following topics listed. The goal is for each student to build upon their current skills and feel confident in solving math problems independently. Each student will learn multiple strategies for solving problems in order to think and work efficiently.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Maria Ramirez is a Massachusetts licensed Elementary Teacher who has been teaching children for over a decade in public, private and charter schools including after school and summer programs. The majority of her teaching has taken place in first and second grade classrooms. She guides children's natural curiosities to explore, investigate, create, problem solve, collaborate, and take risks in a safe and encouraging environment.
