This five week class will teach your child five critical spelling rules that will help them become a more confident speller. Each week will cover one spelling rule and contain two teaching videos. Short assignments will also be provided to reinforce learning. I will be available the entire five weeks to answer any questions your child might have and to provide feedback and encouragement. This five week class will teach your child five critical spelling rules that will help them become a more confident speller. By the end of the class, your child should be familiar with the Floss Rule, The Rabbit Rule, The Changing Rule, The Dropping Rule, and the Doubling Rule.
I have over 150 hours of Orton Gillingham based training in reading strategies specifically targeted to dyslexic students. (Which are beneficial to all beginning readers.) I have been a dyslexia specialist for twelve years in the public school setting and have privately tutored students for the past fifteen years.
Homework Offered
Short optional assignments will be provided to reinforce learning.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
I will send home optional assignments for your child to complete that will demonstrate their understanding of the spelling rules. Parents can send a picture of their child's work for me to check and give feedback.Grades Offered
