Class experience
¡Hola! Come sing, move, and play games in Spanish! We will take what we learned in previous classes and extend our conversations. To be successful in this class, I recommend completing “Elementary Beginner Spanish Parts 1-3” or 1-2 years of Spanish instruction at school. In this class, we will learn how to describe animals using adjectives and talk about their habitats. We will learn to name the 7 continents and learn how to name items we see in the natural world. My formal education includes a major in Spanish and a minor in education. I have been teaching Spanish to elementary-age students since 2010! My experience includes teaching in public schools for 9 years, online ESL for 6 years, and on Outschool since June 2020. I also have created Elementary Spanish curricula for a private school and all of my curricula on Outschool.
Homework Offered
I will assign videos, flashcards, and memory games to practice the content learned in class. I highly recommend practicing outside of class at least 1-2 times per week for 10 to 15 minutes.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
There will be a final project that students will present to the class during our last class together. All students will receive a certificate of completion for their attendance and participation in class.Grades Offered
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will utilize Kahoot in some classes to play a game to demonstrate an understanding of the concepts learned. Students will need to use a split screen or have a separate device to play the game during class. I will provide a game PIN during class for students to login into the game. Students may need some parental assistance logging into the game. These resources are free to use and do not require a separate login.
We will utilize Kahoot! two times throughout the duration of the course to review concepts learned. Kahoot is free and does not require a log-in. However, the student will need to see my screen, plus an additional screen. Students can access Kahoot, from a smartphone, tablet, or split-screen on the same device.
