Elementary ELA Course 5/6: Fifth/Sixth Grade English Language Arts (Full Year)

This is a full academic year curriculum for 5/6th-grade level learners where they will explore reading, writing, and presenting skills in line with common core standards.

72 live meetings
60 in-class hours
Homework
1-2 hours per week. Students will receive a link to make a copy of a set of Google Slides that continue and review the concepts taught in class to complete if they would like to. Feedback and correction of their work will be given when they message the teacher and share the slides.
Assessment
Informal assessments during class, written work to be assessed via rubric, and progress reports available upon request.

Welcome to fifth-grade English Language Arts!

This course contains a variety of activities and is based on Wonders 5th Grade Units 1 - 6, Weeks 1 - 5.

The last few units will each focus on writing a full essay. See outline below for more details. 

Optional homework will be provided as requested.

Students are welcome to enroll late as each lesson will be self-contained except the essay writing. We will work with your child to get them caught up with essay writing should they join in the middle of an essay. However, they will not need to "catch up" if they enroll late at any other time.
