Welcome to fifth-grade English Language Arts! This course contains a variety of activities and is based on Wonders 5th Grade Units 1 - 6, Weeks 1 - 5. Each class will cover: Weekly Concept Daily Concept Spelling/Vocabulary Word and Definition Task Cards Reading Leveled Comprehension Questions Text Analysis Grammar Tasks End of the year: Project (Essay or Report Writing) The last few units will each focus on writing a full essay. See outline below for more details. Optional homework will be provided as requested. Students are welcome to enroll late as each lesson will be self-contained except the essay writing. We will work with your child to get them caught up with essay writing should they join in the middle of an essay. However, they will not need to "catch up" if they enroll late at any other time.
