WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT?
In this course, students will master foundational English Language Arts (ELA) skills necessary for success in school and on standardized state tests. We'll focus on key areas such as reading comprehension, grammar, writing, and vocabulary development.

HOW IS YOUR CLASS STRUCTURED?
The course is 8 weeks long, with two live 30-minute sessions per week. Each class focuses on a specific skill or concept, with activities designed to engage students in learning. We will end the course with a comprehensive review and mock standardized test.

HOW WILL YOU TEACH?
I will use a variety of teaching methods to ensure students are actively learning, including:

 Students will be able to identify key story elements (characters, setting, plot, conflict, resolution).

 Students will be able to determine the theme or central message of a story.

Determining Main Ideas in Nonfiction Texts
 Students will be able to determine the main idea and supporting details of a text.

Supporting Details and Text Structure Analysis
 Students will be able to explain how specific paragraphs contribute to the overall structure.
