Class Experience

In this 2 session class students will learn to make a pair of fingerless gloves. In the first session, we'll make the ribbing that is worn on the wrist and work up to half of the glove, making increases for the thumb area. The second session will finish the thumb area and opening for the thumb, as well as the finishing rows and the edging.

We'll discuss edging variations and color changes that could be made to add variety and beauty to this project.

Students will be encouraged to practice the pattern between sessions by making the matching glove on their own.

This is a great project for advanced beginners to intermediate crocheters that are proficient in basic crochet skills. Crocheters at this level can work in the speed necessary for a project such as this.

*If a student is late, I will try to send a message as a reminder. If other students are in class I may be busy and cannot check my email. If no students show up, I will make sure my equipment it working and try to contact students. If all else fails, I will wait for 15 minutes before leaving the classroom.

*My teaching style is relaxed, patient and I have few rules. I want all students to feel very welcome and loved in my class. I always try to instill in the students a determination to keep trying and never give up. I don't believe in mistakes. Mistakes are how we learn and science has proven that our brain is working very hard (learning) when we make mistakes....not when our work is perfect. If it's perfect, it's definitely time to learn something new!

*If a student has background noise, I will mute the student. If a student has a dog, cat, sibling, snap filters or anything else that is distracting them, they will not be able to learn. I will try to encourage the student to eliminate the distractions but ultimately, I expect students to be responsible for focusing while in class. If anything in the student's background is too distracting or inappropriate, I will turn off the student's camera.

*If you have any questions, concerns, suggestions or requests be sure and contact me at any time.

Crocheting has brought me joy since I was about 10 years old. That is many, many years of happily making pretty and practical things. I love sharing this amazing hobby with others who will keep this fantastic craft alive for many more years.
