Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
In this one time class, we will create a fall tree painting using washable paints and a simple paintbrush technique. If learners can dab the brush on their paper, they can do this! This is a great for artists who are ready to paint with a brush and are looking for a fun, festive project to build their artistic confidence.

🎨 We'll start class with a warm welcome and learners will have the opportunity to share their favorite thing about fall.

🎨 We'll look at some photos of real autumn trees and notice how the leaves are many shades of red, orange, yellow, and brown. We will discuss how using multiple colors can help our art look more real and bring it to life!

🎨 I have the tree trunk ready for you to print out, so we will be adding the autumn leaves and some ground details. The technique we'll be using is simple and fun!

🎨 Learners will have the opportunity to share their finished projects at the end of class (if they want to- no pressure!).

I am a patient and positive teacher and I truly believe that everyone can create art! I love seeing learners build their confidence and have fun creating something they're proud of. Everyone's finished product will be different and we celebrate those differences! Also, as a former shy kid myself, I am very understanding of learners who take some time to warm up and there is no pressure in my classes to talk if that isn't comfortable yet. All are welcome here!

The materials needed are listed in the materials section below. I would suggest that the learners have their work surface covered, as we paint all the way to the edge of our paper. I also recommend that learners have a grownup close by during this class.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Grown up help will be needed before class to gather supplies and print the tree trunk. Depending on the learner's skill and comfort, grown up help may also be needed at times during the class (ex. squeezing the paint onto the paper plate).
Supply List
For this class, your learner will need:
- A paper plate to put paint on
- Paintbrush
- Water to rinse the paintbrush
- A rag or paper towel to dry the paintbrush
- Washable paint in brown, orange, red, and yellow (plus any other colors they'd like to use for extra details)

I have always loved working with children as well as arts and crafts! I've been a nursery coordinator, daycare teacher, nanny, and school volunteer over the years. I also have three kids of my own who I do art projects with. I have my own Etsy shop and love doing art projects for myself and of course with kids!
