Class Experience

It's almost that time of the year again, when the Easter Bunny pays us all a visit. Are you ready? Pete the Cat sure is and he wants to help you get ready as well! In this class we will read and discuss the story 'Pete the Cat Big Easter Adventure' by Kimberly and James Dean. Students will then decorate their own Easter Egg (design provided for printing or students may draw their own).

Lesson Plan:
- Welcome & introductions
- Read through 'Pete the Cat Big Easter Adventure'
- Discuss story and how Pete helped the Easter Bunny.
- Students are giving time to design their own Easter Eggs.
- Students will share their final designs with their classmates.
- Farewell

Other Details

Parental Guidance

Students will be creating their Easter Egg, therefore parental guidance is recommended for students when using scissors.

Supply List

Students will need:
- coloring supplies (crayons, color pencils, water colors, whatever the learned is in the mood for)
- colored paper
- scissors
- glue
- Egg outline (provided when learners sign up but does not need to be used)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello my name is Mrs. V. I have been teaching in public schools for 10 years now. I've worked in Kindergarten and Pre-K classroom. I have my bachelors in early childhood education and my masters in instructional technology. I am excited to bring both of those passions to OutSchool through a variety of classes. I teach kindergarten full time, usually in the classroom but currently online. While teaching online during this pandemic I have learned many skills and approaches on how to interact with students virtually by making lessons that include movement and fun all while still being educational. Not only am I passionate about teaching but I also love reading, baking, hiking and the outdoors. I plan to bring all of my passions to my lessons and I look forward to meeting you and your students. My classes will be interactive, fun, educational and you might even meet my dog Waylon- he loves to pop in and say hi!
