Class Experience
In this tutoring course, I will strengthen your students academic skills and provide a strong foundation for their future learning. This is a great way to catch up over the summer or simply strengthen skills to best prepare for their next upcoming school year! I will begin by assessing your students skills and needs, as well as find their interests, to then best provide them with hands-on assistance. Your student will then get individualized attention and personalized interactive activities that will encourage them to work hard. I have a foundational core curriculum I can go through if your student needs more generalized support, or I can work on specific areas requested by the family and student. This level is best suited for grades K-2nd. **An example of how we could progress through material** Week 1- Assessments & Discussion of Needs Interests Intake Week 2- Reading Fluency Reading Comprehension Writing Prompt Week 3- Observation & Recording My Community Living vs. Non-Living Week 4- Geometry Counting & Grouping

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi everyone! My name is Ms. Emily and I am an Early Childhood Educator who loves animals, crafts, nature and all things social-emotional!
My philosophy in teaching is a warm approach, I like my classes to be low-pressure and extra silly! I believe that students have a variety of needs that are unique to their learning style, background and interests. I love the concept of outschooling as it allows for flexibility in learning environments as well as content delivery. I think learning is best achieved when having fun so my teaching is driven mainly through games, discussions, dance parties, role-playing, crafts, student interests and much more.
My favorite classes to teach involve anything to do with social-emotional skills, the arts, movement and elementary core curriculum. I am always open to new classes that my students show interest or need for so don't be afraid to ask for something new!
