Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Are you looking for a short adventure that will challenge your child's creativity, critical thinking, and social skills? Look no further than my Dungeons and Dragons Epic Adventures Class.

Over the course of 2 weeks, your child will embark on an epic journey through a fantasy world full of monsters, magic, and adventure. Guided by an experienced Dungeon Master, they will learn the rules of the game and how to create and play their own unique character. Each lesson is 55 minutes long and meets once a week, giving your child plenty of time to explore and learn.

The online lessons use the Roll20 website, a virtual tabletop that allows players to interact with each other and the game world through maps, tokens, and dice rolls. Your child will learn how to use this powerful tool to navigate dangerous dungeons, negotiate with NPCs (non-playable characters), and battle fearsome creatures.

But Dungeons & Dragons is more than just a game. It's an opportunity for your child to develop important skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and communication. As they work together with their fellow players to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals, they will learn to think creatively and collaborate effectively.

Week 1: Introduction to Dungeons and Dragons and character building followed by starting the adventure if time allows.
Week 2: Players will start and complete a quick quest also known as a one shot.
Learning Goals
I do not assign homework but if your child would like to look up stats for different characters they could play in Dungeons and Dragons this would help them to choose a character. Some students just like to show up and have me assign them a pre-made character sheet while others like to make their own D&D character.
