🛡️ Class Description: Gear up for an immersive combat adventure where you become the hero of the quest! In "Caravan Defender's Combat Challenge," the action begins just 10 minutes into the session, placing students at the heart of the lesson. Led by our expert DND CLUB Dungeon Masters, this class focuses on hands-on experience, teaching new players combat mechanics, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through a thrilling one-session adventure. 🏹 Adventure Overview: Goblins and bandits threaten peaceful travelers, pillaging caravans en route to Neverwinter. Your mission? Defend one of these caravans using your wits and, if necessary, weapons, ensuring the safe arrival of the travelers. Immerse yourself in an interactive learning experience where "in-game" decisions shape your understanding of Dungeons & Dragons mechanics. 🎯 Conceptual Learning: Explore game mechanics by applying them to real in-game scenarios! From combat strategies to saving throws, skill and ability checks, and earning experience points, this class provides a comprehensive understanding of D&D fundamentals. 🧙 Expectations: -Come prepared with character sheets and dice (we provide sheets in the welcome message, students can use online dice) -Foster a supportive environment, collaborating with fellow students to achieve mission objectives. -Prohibit in-game attacks against player characters/teammates. -Punctuality is key; students arriving more than 10 minutes late won't be admitted to maintain the session's flow. Embark on the "Caravan Defender's Combat Challenge" in Dungeons and Dragons 103, where interactive learning meets epic adventure! 🌟 🚀 Part of a Six-Part Series: D&D 101: Heroic Discovery Seminar D&D 102: Mastering the Art of Character Creation D&D 103: Caravam Defender's Combat Challenge D&D 104: The Missing Crystal One Shot Adventure D&D 105: Magic Manor of Neverwinter D&D 106: Ruins of Greyhawk Note to parents/students: You may choose to allow your child to have access to the D&D Beyond website (dndbeyond.com) to assist in their creation and use of characters or other content for use in this class. Learning Goals
The goal of the class is to familiarize the learner with the mechanics of combat, saving throws, skill, and ability checks that might occur during a session. The adventure is “completed” when the caravan has been successfully defended from in game enemies.

Parental Guidance
Roleplaying games offer a creative "sandbox" in which participants can engage in imaginative problem solving. Fantasy violence will not be directly depicted, but the possibilities of this within the game will be discussed. Students may wish to explore ideas related to their characters that involve in-game "weapons" and "spells" for the use of "in-game" violence.
Supply List
Students will need to select a Level 1 character. This can be an existing character they've created or a pregenerated character, for which a link is provided under the resources section. Students will need paper and pencil. They will use the online dice roller during the session. Some may wish to purchase the D&D Player Handbook for follow up reading.
