How is Your Class Structured? Step 1: Introduction to design basics with engaging slides. Step 2: Short video examples showcasing real-life room transformations. Step 3: Guided activities: selecting a color scheme, sketching a layout, and choosing décor elements. Step 4: Reflection: learners upload their dream room plans and can share their designs for feedback. How Will You Teach? The course combines slides, pre-recorded video demonstrations, and downloadable worksheets to create an interactive and visual experience. Learners are encouraged to pause and complete activities before moving forward. What is Your Teaching Style? I focus on encouraging creativity and fostering a growth mindset by breaking the process into achievable steps. The tone is supportive, engaging, and fun to keep learners motivated throughout the course. How Much Will Learners Get to Interact with You? Learners can submit their room plans for optional feedback. Though self-paced, they’ll receive a warm and supportive environment through personalized written comments on their work.

Learn how to design your dream room! This course covers the basics of interior design, including choosing a color scheme, arranging furniture for functionality, and adding unique personal touches. By the end of the class, you'll have a design plan ready to share with your family or implement at home!

Learning Needs
This class is intentionally designed to support unique learning needs by using clear, visual aids, step-by-step guidance, and activities that allow learners to work at their own pace.
Parental Guidance
We will use tools such as Canva, and YouTube to create our designs. Students will need to have access to Canva's free account to participate in this class. YouTube is an optional tool, used during the class for examples. However, with parental support, student's can use YouTube for ideas as well.
Pre-Requisites
Previous Classes or Skills: No prior design knowledge is required.
Experience: Learners should have basic drawing or sketching skills (stick figures and simple shapes are fine!) and a willingness to brainstorm ideas.
Supply List
A notebook or sketchpad for brainstorming and sketches. Colored pencils, markers, or crayons for color planning. A ruler (optional) for drawing room layouts. Access to printable worksheets (provided in the class).
