Beginner Level
In this one time class, students will learn to draw an adorable Easter Bunny and then use watercolor techniques to paint it. I will show step-by-step how to draw the Easter Bunny with pencil and eraser. Students will learn how to analyze the subject and break it down into simple shapes. After sketching out the Bunny, students will use sharpies to outline the subject. Then we will color the paintings starting with the background. A beautiful ombre background color blending technique will be introduced using the wet brush. Students will also learn to use the dry brush to create the contrasty, vibrant color for the subject, the Easter Bunny. The class will be fun, relaxing, and enjoyable. I will show my finished artwork at the start of class as an example along with the supplies needed to create it. Students are inspired to add their personal touches to their paintings. Towards the end of the class, I will have a compliment party where students are encouraged to share their artworks with each other. There is no prior experience or knowledge needed for this class. Students will have fun and thrive in a creative environment where they are encouraged to bring their imagination. Note to parents: I will be using canvas during the class. While canvas is not a requirement, watercolor paper is highly recommended as it will make a big difference for a learner's success.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi I am Lily,
I am a graphic designer and illustrator. I have worked as a graphic designer for more than 20 years. Aside from my job, I enjoy painting, drawing and creating art with things I can find in my home.
Painting and making artwork is fun for me, especially with kids. My daughter and I have been making art together since she was a toddler. The art we made came with all kinds of forms. There was a time we made a mummy cat using scrap wood and fabric for Halloween. There were times when it’s snowing out and we were in the backyard panting. We believe art has infinite forms and possibilities.
If you ask if I have any teaching experience? I taught a few summer camps at the Children’s Creative Museum in San Francisco and I often volunteer in my daughter's classroom teaching arts projects around themes like holidays. My classes will open to any kids who want to explore the world of art. In my class, having fun while creating the artwork is my priority. At the end of each class, I will throw a compliment party and encourage students to share their artwork. Making art is fun and I want my students to have a good time creating and want to do more!
