Class Experience

In this 4-week flex class, learners will learn about and draw 8 ocean animals.  We will compile our 8 illustrations into an "aquarium" portfolio.  Students will name their aquarium, create an optional cover for their aquarium, and share it with our class group.  

Students will develop their spatial awareness and artistic confidence by following the directed drawing instructions.  By creating a cumulative keepsake with their work, students will take pride in their creation and hopefully feel eager to share their aquarium with family and friends. 

How will the class be organized?
I will post directed drawing videos and instructions twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays.  Students will be expected to post their drawings and offer compliments to their classmates.  They will receive individual feedback from me on each art piece.  
In addition to our artwork, students will also be provided links to short animal videos and engage in discussion questions about the animals with fellow students. 

At the end of our course, I will post an additional video with instructions to compile the work into an aquarium portfolio.  Students can create an optional cover for their portfolio with the name of their aquarium.  When students complete and post their finished aquarium portfolio, they will receive a printable certificate.

 Thursday: Dolphin

Week 4: 
 Monday: Sea Turtle

 Friday: Students record and post video presentations

*This is a flex class.  That means this course does not include live meetings.

Students will need the following materials:

For drawings: White copy paper, pencil, black marker, and something to color with; crayons, markers, colored pencils and/or paint.
For aquarium book:  Small binder with cover sleeve and 8 clear page protectors OR presentation binder with space for 8 pages.

Hello!

I am so excited to teach your child in my fun and engaging online classroom.  Together, we will learn about everything that interests us!  

I am a classroom teacher, online ESL teacher, and former Montessori teacher and nanny.  I am certified in General Education K-6 and ESOL.  I have training in Conscious Discipline, reading and math intervention, phonemic awareness and more.  

In my free time, I love to crochet, read, and cook.  I have a house full of pets - 2 dogs, 2 cats, a parrot, and chickens.  I live in Orlando, Florida with my husband and toddler daughter.
