○ In this lesson, we will go through steps of drawing an ice cream cone together, and then talk about ways we can make our drawings look more realistic and three-dimensional just by adding shading. ○ Students will learn the skill of cross-hatching, overlaying tiny lines to create a variation in dark to light. ○ Students will have the chance to make their own creative decisions along the way (toppings, number of scoops, etc.), and to ask questions throughout. ○ At the end, they will be able to share their drawings with each other and think about how else they can apply these new skills. *Because this is a short lesson, students are expected to arrive in a timely manner so that we can cover everything outlined here.

○ Students will learn one method of rendering an ice cream form
○ Students will gain an understanding of the use of different values in a drawing
