Cultivate learners’ understanding of art, while simultaneously developing their craft, imagination and creativity! The class topics change weekly but the class format stays the same with a few exceptions. **Please note** It’s important to consider the levels of drawing classes offered to find a drawing level appropriate for your learner: Intro to Drawing (little or no experience with drawing) https://outschool.com/classes/art-with-ms-amy-intro-to-drawing-the-potential-of-the-pencil-uIRhyp8Y?usid=7WJIn5dw&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link The Art of Drawing (some experience with drawing) https://outschool.com/classes/art-with-ms-amy-drawing-101-l0MH5izR?usid=7WJIn5dw&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link Drawing Fundamentals (drawing experience required) https://outschool.com/classes/drawing-fundamentals-art-with-ms-amy-vxHhYUJb?sectionUid=f214e504-7878-4bc3-830e-c11aa38e2c58&showDetails=true Advanced Drawing- (coming soon) contact me for more details! We begin with sharing work previously created in class or otherwise and constructive feedback is offered as an opportunity for growth. (This process familiarizes learners with the vocabulary of art and how it may be utilized to give their drawing deeper meaning, as well as bring their work to its highest level of development. In addition, it also motivates and inspires artists to see each other’s work. It is very rewarding part of this class!) After, certified educator and artist, Amy Pollman-Hoehner, will introduce a new concept via a follow-along demo. Examples from artists and art history may be offered as well. Students will explore techniques and strategies of topic execution during this time. Lastly, students will spend the remainder of class creating their drawing challenge. This is an opportunity to experiment with techniques discussed by creating a unique artwork of their inspiration. In most cases, students will begin their drawing in class and complete it for the following week as needed. Students are encouraged to bring their final drawing to class the following week to share. We will cover a variety of drawing topics: value, texture, line, negative/positive space, perspective, rendering, composition, portraits, landscapes, animals, optical illusion, symmetry, scale, and art fundamentals are just to name a few. Learners are encouraged to post their work in the Classroom, as it will operate an an online rolling gallery exhibition. The topic for the following week will be announced a week prior to each class as well as a prompt to consider. Learners can subscribe weekly or drop-in at their convenience. This is a beginner level course but some experience with drawing is recommended.
