Class Experience

Would you rather draw a picture or play a game? In this class, you can do both. You will learn a little about drawing techniques while we socialize. Prepare your reactions and questions in case a game of Would You Rather breaks out.
During this multi-day drawing class, the learner will have the opportunity to learn basic skills in drawing using a pencil. If they would like to add color to their pictures, they are welcome to do so. Creativity is encouraged.
The class will use the following structure:
Greetings/Introductions
Introduction and demonstration of the element or technique for the week
Drawing and socialization time
Virtual Art Gallery

Each week, I will demonstrate one of the elements of art or a drawing technique. The learner will then use the element or technique to create pictures they choose or complete as a directed drawing. Due to the nature of one-on-one classes, the learner will be helping determine what will be drawn each week.
This class will focus on using the elements of art in drawings. The elements of art include line, shape, value, dimension, texture, space, color, and form. I will introduce the element that we are focusing on. The learner will be encouraged to explore their creativity in the composition of the artwork being created.

Learning Goals

The learner will learn various aspects of drawing including using lines, shapes, dimensions, shading, and perspective to create drawings using pencils.
