⭐⭐This week January 6th we will be drawing the EYE in the listing picture.⭐⭐ This ongoing class will meet together once a week to create a new colored pencil drawing. I will lead students step by step using a camera over my drawing. We will use light, medium and hard pressure with our colored pencils to make light and dark values. We will also blend colors using different techniques to create vibrant colorful artwork that almost looks like a painting! VOTING FOR NEXT WEEK'S DRAWING Students will decide on what the following week’s drawing will be. at the end of each class we have a fun voting experience, where students choose from a variety of different drawings. I will have a wide range of categories such as animals, birds, flowers, still life, and random fun subjects. I keep it fresh and add new categories and drawings often. If your student has attended my Weekly Sketchbook Drawing class, I will use the same format that they are familiar with there. My students love it and look forward to voting each week. SHARE BOARD I have created a “Share Board” using Padlet, where students can share their colored pencil artwork. It is an excellent place for students to show their work and encourage each other with likes and comments. The link will be given in the classroom, parents are welcome to check it out! CHALLENGE I give a challenge every week encouraging the students to practice what they have learned and create something on their own. The challenge is not required but will be rewarded. I hope to see some new and old faces, looking forward to creating some colored pencil art with you! *******Please Read Full Materials List Carefully ,further down, not here in the description********** You can use any colored pencils , but for best results to follow along I recommend a set of 24 or more Prisma Colored Pencils. https://a.co/d/baQ0bwc https://www.dickblick.com/items/prismacolor-premier-colored-pencils-set-of-24-/

Parental Guidance
I use Padlet to create a Share Board where students can share their artwork from class and see each others drawings, they encourage one another with positive feedback.
You are not required to have a Padlet account to share on the Shareboard, although you are welcomed to if you would like. You are also not required to share.
I use Google Slides for voting, to show the different options by sharing my screen. Students vote by typing their choices in the chat.
Supply List
⭐ Colored Pencils I will be using and recommend students use a set of 24 OR MORE PRISMA COLORED PENCILS https://www.dickblick.com/items/prismacolor-premier-colored-pencils-set-of-24-/ You can use any colored pencils you like, but your best experience will be with this set. If you have a different brand student will just have to find colors that are similar, and that is fine, but I do not recommend anything under 24. ⭐Paper Options * colored pencil paper * drawing paper * Toned tan paper printer paper is not the best paper for this type of drawing but will work if nothing else is available, or for a first class to try it out. ⭐sharpener ⭐Pencil for initial drawing ⭐printer in the case there is a sketch to download. Depending on difficulty of the drawing, I may have the initial sketch available to download and print, and I will show students how to get the drawing transferred to their paper. I don't want to focus on the drawing as much as the colored pencil techniques so if the drawing will take too long we'll do it that way. So you will need a printer and printer paper. ⭐ Occasional Extra Supplies such as..... (I may share tips and special techniques for some drawings that require various extra supplies, always ok if you do not have) * printer paper * Qtips * baby oil or rubbing alcohol * A colorless blender https://www.dickblick.com/items/prismacolor-premier-colored-pencil-colorless-blender/

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a full time artist completely in love with creating art , I paint daily and sell my paintings locally and online.
I have enjoyed drawing since I was a child and have always had a sketchbook nearby but never took an art class until my late 20's. One oil painting class and I was off, learning everything I could, using as many art materials as I could get my hands on.
A fearless desire to try new art techniques and mediums has driven me to learn art on my own, no formal training , although I have learned a lot from some talented online art teachers.
It is exciting, inspiring, empowering to learn that you can create something beautiful with just your hands, your mind and a few simple tools.
I would become stagnant if I did not have an outflow for this creativity, so I teach!! I love sharing what I have learned with others. I am willing to teach whatever I am learning and creating so expect a variety of classes.
I taught art in a private school to grades K-12 for 2 years. I have also taught art and sewing lessons in my home. I was a homeschool mom for several years and taught art at our homeschool co-op to ages 6-13.
I think that online learning is a huge asset to the the young artist. Being that I have learned a lot online myself I know from a students perspective.
With close up cameras, a smart pen, sharing abilities in Zoom, printables and whatever else it takes , I am able to really focus the student on what they see, learning to see details and put them down on canvas or paper.
I believe every artist is at a different place in his or her learning process and needs to work right there in that place. No comparisons to others or mine. Mistakes are welcomed and hopefully turned into a new and unexpected beauty in the art.
My hope is that my students enjoy the process of learning and creating art as much as I do and that I can help make that happen.
