In this class we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by drawing rainbow friends using "triangle” shapes and the colors of the rainbow. This is a great way to celebrate diversity & encourage kids to be friends with different kinds of people.

Class Experience
Students will strengthen their appreciation and understanding of contributions made by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. By drawing rainbow friends, students will enhance their creativity and artistic skills.
I have celebrated Black History Month all my life; thus, I am very aware of the various contributions made by MLK in the USA and world. In addition, I have a BA in Sociology from UCLA in Los Angeles.. With a combination of real life experiences and cultural studies in college, I am eager to share the beauty of my diverse community through drawing of my original character, Travel Girl .
Complete the Rainbow Friends drawing and coloring of it. Students are encouraged to draw their own Rainbow Friend characters.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
If requested, student can receive an informal assessment of the final drawing and completed homework.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
