Class Experience

We will be practicing our character drawing by referencing Link from Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! Practicing this character will allow us to discuss figure drawing, how to draw hair, clothing, hands, feet, and more! We will talk about how to pose a character so that they don't look stiff, and more!

I will be drawing along with students so that they can see exactly what I'm drawing in real time! I will be sharing my iPad screen so that all students can see every line I make. Students are welcome to interrupt, ask questions, and ask me to go back and re-draw anything! I will occasionally check in with each student throughout the class so I can offer any critiques or even draw-overs as needed as we go. No student will be left to trail behind and get lost! I will go at students' pace so that they don't feel rushed or panicked as they learn.

Students are welcome to chat with me and each other about the character, game, and drawing! We will try to avoid spoilers!

Hiya! I'm Stacy! I love all things art and animation! I'm a huge cartoon and anime fan, and love to share my passion with my students!

I have been teaching drawing, digital painting, and animation online since 2020, and have had over 50 long-term private students! I have also been a freelance artist and animator since graduating with my Master's in Medical Art in 2019.

One of my most important values in teaching is to build students' confidence in themselves. Especially in art, people can be so hard on themselves! I will always encourage my students to do their best, and allow themselves some grace when trying something new for the first time. Self-confidence and self-love is important! That's why I take extra special care to pay attention to the way we talk to ourselves in class. We encourage each other and take pride in the things we succeed in! But, we also forgive ourselves and persevere in the things it takes us more than one try to master.
