Draw Easy Art Tree Branch on Canvas With Hot Glue & Acrylic Paint- 1:1 (CAMP)
What's included
3 live meetings
3 in-class hoursClass Experience
This is a 3-Day Art CAMP. One beautiful easy art project. No skill is needed to draw an easy tree branch on canvas, add hot glue over the design, and paint it using primarily beautiful gloss or metallic paints. Add colorful blossoms (flowers) with Q-tips. As an optional add-on, add some blossoms with air-dry clay. You can't really mess the tree branch up. It turns into a lovely cherry blossom tree except that the blossom can be lots of beautiful colors. It will result in an amazing-looking piece of textured art. No one will guess how easy it was. Beginner or not, you can do this Art. It will take three days to complete the project. As a bonus (only if you want it) invite your family to do the craft with you. I don't mind at all. Do it with a sibling or your mother or your whole family. One thing: Parental Guidance- you must be allowed to use a glue gun and have used one before. The glue is very hot and it hurts if it gets on you. This is a great art piece that is unusual. Most people haven't seen it. I found doing this with 1 or 2 people is the best way so I can give plenty of attention and we can complete it in 3 days. -You will need, canvas, acrylic paint and some paintbrushes, a hot glue gun with sticks, and a pencil. -***************************************************** I am good at demonstrations and helping you through an Art project. There will be a second camera where I can show you close-up things when needed. You may find whatever position makes you comfortable when putting the glue on the canvas. **Parental guidance. Your child will be using a hot glue gun for this project. Getting fingertips burned a bit is easy to do. And there will most certainly be moments of hollering, “Ouch!” But I will teach them to be as safe as possible and be patient and go slowly. -The student does not need to know how to draw. This is a simple outline of a tree branch and then the glue makes the ridges in the tree. -The supplies for this sound expensive, but it's not really that bad depending on where you get supplies. Before Day, paint your canvas a solid color. Green works best, but the choice is yours. You don't want it any color that your flowers will be or the tree. I will message you before that day to remind you. If you come to class with it unpainted, that is okay. Just know that you may not finish all of this art project because we need to have the canvas dry before we draw or add glue. If you cannot, choose a smaller canvas size. -This canvas will be no smaller than 8x10, rectangle, and no bigger than 11x14 Day 1: -Follow the example and draw a thick branch lightly with a pencil. Follow the outlines to begin adding glue as directed. This will take the entire first day. Day 2: -We will begin to put gold metallic paint on the tree branch. This will cover the glue. It could possibly need two coats of paint. Then we take some watered-down black paint and put in overtop and around the edges and wipe away the excess with a paper towel. This will give it a very classy, old look to it. We will need to let it dry completely or when we put flowers on there, it will get muddy. Day 2: -We add the flowers! You can do this in any colors you like. I suggest bright colors that will show up on the darker background like different shades of pink, purple, blue, orange, white, and more. They can all be the same or they can all be different. We will paint them on with Q-tips. A very easy technique to do. Some will represent blossoms in the background and we can do some closer that look like a flower. (optional) If you have air dry clay with you, it is easy to make close-up flowers with your thumb! They stick on very easily with white glue. They can be painted right away. And then you are finished! Kids will learn a lot of Art techniques while doing this. They will learn about lines and texture, positive space, negative space, perspective, and a lot about color. Art classes cost a bit more due to supplies. I have to get supplies, you have to get supplies and then there is the one-on-one thing. It is worth it to learn how to do this. Friends will be amazed at what you did. You will want to put this on your wall. And if your family joins, you have some quality time together and it's fun. If you want to do this class with a friend or as a party, contact me and we can set it up to work that way at a group cost. I won't be listing this class often so if you don't see a spot, auto-schedule or message me.t to do it together with their child. If you want to take the class and you don't see a date, let me know. I will try and make one. I won't list the class often but I will list it is someone wants to take it.
Learning Goals
Goals:
-The student will learn more about using primary color to make other colors and how to make a color lighter or darker in shades.
-Art provides an emotional outlet for kids and decreases stress.
-The student will learn a great deal about observation and noticing detail.
-Students will increase their critical thinking and problem-solving skills
-Students will learn about texture in Art.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
parental guidance is using the hot glue gun. I will be teaching them safety when using it, but I think everyone gets the tips of their fingers burned briefly.
Supply List
Materials: (not a lot of stuff. ) Suggestions- -Something to cover your surface. Those plastic tablecloths from Dollar Tree work great -Tweezers- this just helps get hot glue strands off of paintings -Paper towels -eraser Pencil- although if you have a thin piece of chalk laying around, it works great. You can see the line better and it wipes away. Good to have, but not required Q-tips rubber band (we will put these around a bundle of Q-tips)things I am assuming you have at home. They would be: -Work surface cover, Tweezers, paper towels, hair dryer, q-tips, pencil, and a good eraser - (glue gun) If You have one of any kind, that’s great. If not, you can get them about anywhere. Walmart has some for 2.97. -(glue sticks) I am unsure how many we will need but go with at least a 30 pack. Less than 3.00 at Walmart. You will use a lot of them. -(Canvas panels- You can get the stretched canvas if you like. I personally like it better but the first job, the canvas panel board is fine. An 8x10 or 11x14.- Sometimes Dollar Tree has them. They are only a couple of dollars almost anyplace. -(paintbrushes-a small value pack at Walmart is good) If you were to decide to do clay, you might want a few smaller detail brushes. -(Paint) For our purpose, some cheap acrylic craft paint is fine. I still use it myself. Very rarely, do I buy the good stuff. The cheapest place to buy it is Walmart in the craft section, which I have found. You can use metallic or gloss. Or use some metallic and some gloss. They are usually under 2.00 a bottle. Whichever you buy, you want a non-metallic canvas background. I recommend green, but blue is good or whatever you want. Nothing super light or super dark though 1 bottle black 1 bottle of either Antique Gold or Pure Gold 1 bottle of white Whatever colors you want for the blossoms. Different colors or shades of the same color. If you want a yellow center in your blossoms, get a dark yellow. (Optional) Air-dry clay. Crayola brand. a 5-pound tub is about 6.00 at Walmart or Amazon Message me with questions
