In this class I will go over how when drawing 3-D objects, there is a light source. A light shines on one side of an object, and on the other side are the shadows. To draw the shadows, students will shade on the object's opposite side of the light source and the shadow. I will show an example of a value scale, too (the lightness and darkness of a color). Students will use value when shading their 3-D objects to make them look real. The 3-D objects we will draw are a cube (3-D square), a sphere (3-D circle), and a cone (3-D triangle). Then, students will be able to turn these into objects from real life, such as an ice cube, orange, and ice cream cone, and then add color. I will introduce myself, and allow students to introduce themselves for the first 5 minutes of class. At the end of class will be a discussion, show-and-tell, and Q and A.
