Class Experience

Note: Please feel free to contact me to schedule a class that meets at your convenience.

I have been teaching this class for 3 years. I am always amazed at how much my students fine motor skills, problem solving skills, art skills, and creativity grows. I let students and their families determine what they want to work on. Some families decide they would like me to create lessons in advance, which I am happy to do. I lead them through projects step-by-step or sometimes, I will have my students share their screens so I can talk to them as they work. This is a wonderful way for them to learn all of the features of the app. The more students grow in proficiency with the app, their confidence grows as well. I teach children in a way that gives them as many creative choices as possible. I also try to facilitate their self-reliance so they can independently trouble-shoot the inevitable glitches that occur when using any device or app. I believe the independence and confidence gained are carried over into their everyday life, and school work.
Learning Goals
This will change depending on the needs of the student. We will work together on projects that the student chooses. The tutoring session will be determined by the student’s interests. The parents and students can let the teacher know what their expectations are for the tutoring sessions. What do they want to learn about? What are their goals for the class? The learning goals can be about learning how to use the Procreate App, or learning goals can be related to how to improve paintings on procreate as well as how to use the App to improve the quality of the artwork.
