Class Experience

The teacher will give a 15-minute interactive presentation with facts about the Portuguese Man-of-War including its habitat, predators, prey, symbiotic relationships, and how it got its name.  Students will also learn why this creature is mistaken for a jellyfish and what to do if they are ever stung (the teacher has firsthand experience with this—-YIKES). 

Next, the students will use art supplies to follow along with the teacher for a directed drawing lesson. At the completion of the class,...

This class is taught in English.

Students will hone their art and listening skills as they follow step-by-step directions on how to draw this mysterious creature. They will also learn many interesting facts about the Portuguese Man o' War.

Students will add creative details to complete their undersea drawing.

The teacher has a master's degree in Integrating Arts Into the Curriculum and thrives on creating lessons that are creative and educational. She taught kindergarten through 4th grade and gifted students in public schools for thirty years and has been an Outschool teacher since March 2020.
