Let's learn about life cycles using drama! This one-time arts-integration class is for young learners to explore the fascinating world of life cycles—from seeds growing into plants to caterpillars transforming into butterflies—using the power of Drama. Through fun, hands-on activities, students will become performers as they embody different stages of life cycles. They'll use drama tools like movement, creative expression, and vocal expression to deepen their understanding of these natural processes. This class is designed to foster creativity, build confidence, and enhance learning through an arts-integrated approach, making it perfect for students who love to learn by doing. No prior drama experience is needed—just bring your imagination and a willingness to explore! Materials: No materials are needed for this one-time class. Space: Students will need a designated area that allows them to sit comfortably, stand up, and perform movements & sounds. Attire: Comfortable clothing that will allow students to move freely is suggested.
Learning Goals
Students will identify and sequence the stages of simple life cycles (such as a butterfly or plant) and describe key characteristics of each stage in their own words.
Students will use imagination and creativity to embody different stages of life cycles, enhancing their ability to express ideas and emotions through drama.

With a BFA in Theatre from Bennett College and an MA in Educational Theatre from NYU, I've had the privilege of teaching drama to students ranging from Kindergarten to 12th grade. My journey has taken me through various classrooms and stages, where I've worked with young people to explore the magic of storytelling, performance, and creativity.
In my classes, I believe that drama is more than just an art form—it's a powerful tool for learning, self-expression, and personal growth.
