Description
Class Experience
Students will practice their acting skills, receive constructive feedback from their peers, and get the opportunity to socialize with peers who have similar interests.
I have taught theatre for several years, and have acted in a variety of productions. I have a BA, and during my time in college, I took courses related to theatre and history.
Students make wish to practice their monologues outside of class.
Students will be asked to pick their own monologues for this class. If we a performing a specific scene, the dialogue will be provided in the form of a web link.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students will be allowed to choose their own monologues, and will be asked to keep them at a PG level. However, we will be discussing/performing Shakespeare and Greek scenes/monologues from plays that contain themes or mentions of infidelity, suicide, self-harm, double entendres, profanity, underage drinking, substance abuse, homophobia, references to the afterlife, outdated gender concepts, outdated societal concepts, Greek mythology, and LGBTQA+ themes. Guardians are advised to ask if they have any concerns about a particular topic, and decide if their student is of the right maturity level to handle the class.
