Dungeons and Dragons is the most popular tabletop roleplaying game in history, played by millions of people of all ages worldwide. Playing it uses theatrical improv, some basic math, creative problem-solving skills, and lots of imagination, and the best thing is that anyone can do it. To streamline this adventure, I will provide a few pre-made options for characters, although if anyone wants to make their own, we can arrange to meet and do so before the campaign starts. The pace of the game will be set by the players, so they don't feel like they need to rush to be finished by a certain date. New players can join at any point, we'll make space in the story for them. The adventure begins when the players are called to the mining town of Phandalin, which is being threatened by a white dragon. Please note: except in rare instances, PvP will not be part of this game; the goal is to work together. Sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia etc. will not be tolerated, and players are free to play any alignment they like as long as it's not evil. Cover Photo by Jonatan Pie on Unsplash.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I'm offering this class because I love the game of D&D and the effect it's had on my life. I'm an avid player and DM of the game (I play in three games and run four regular campaigns), and I continue to be delighted by what happens once the character sheets and dice come out. My friendships have gotten deeper, I've become a more confident and creative person, and I get to be awesome at least once a week (which is great for self-image).
I've introduced dozens of people to the game through regular beginner one-shots I run bi-weekly at a local game cafe, so I am daunted neither by the complexity of the game nor by off-the-wall questions. I've probably heard it all before.
