DRAGON MASTERS has it all! Dragons, a Dragon Stone, a king, a wizard, and magic! In the first book in this fully-illustrated series, 8-year old Drake is snatched up by King Roland's soldier and taken to the castle. He is to be trained as a Dragon Master. At the castle, he is joined by three other young Dragon Masters-in-training: Ana, Rori, and Bo. The Dragon Masters must learn how to connect with and train their dragons--and they must also uncover their dragons' special powers. Does Drake have what it takes to be a Dragon Master? What is his dragon's special power?- Amazon- This series is part of Scholastic's early chapter book line which is aimed at newly independent readers. With easy-to-read text, high-interest content, fast-paced plots, and illustrations on every page, these books will boost reading confidence and stamina. Each chapter book is 90 pages long and has an illustration on every page. -Amazon- This class includes books 1-4 of the Dragon Masters series by Tracy West. During class we will have a discussion, work on a craft or activity, and time permitting, begin reading the next book together. Students will have the option of sharing their finished projects during the following class. Students are encouraged to read out loud but are not required to. Through the discussion we will practice summarizing, questioning, inferring, drawing conclusions, recalling details, and vocabulary words from the book. Students do not need to read Book one before the first meeting. After the first meeting students read one book a week to be prepared for the next class. Hello! I’m so excited to teach classes on Outschool. Over the last 20 years I have taught 3rd grade, ESL, and Title reading and math to kindergarten-5th grade in public schools.
