In this one time class, I will read "Ten Apples Up on Top" and then complete a brief lesson on apples and poetry. Students will then create their own apple poems.

This will be an examination of apples, an introduction to poetry, and igniting the imagination for students to write further poetry after the class. Class will begin with reading "Ten Apples Up on Top." Each student will have their apple poetry book printout (printable provided before class begins) to create their own apple/autumn poetry. After a brief discussion from guided questions at the end of the story, I will introduce the concept of poetry. Then, students will be encouraged to create their poetry during and after the class.
