This class is perfect for students that love engaging ways of learning. Students that may naturally enjoy reading and those that just need a little more encouragement! Our classes are known for being effective, fun and engaging! This is a beginner course. It is designed to be an introduction that will involve comprehension checks about onomatopoeias and combined sight words. They will learn how to identify onomatopoeias and use them properly in their own writing. At the end of our class, they will be encouraged to start journaling, with the given topic and prompt. They will be able to create their own stories using onomatopoeias, after obtaining comprehension of the given vocabulary words. Exploring Onomatopoeia: Fun with Words that Sound Like What They Mean! Students will: - Learn what makes an onomatopoeia - Recognize and identify onomatopoeic words in literature and everyday life. - Create their own onomatopoeic words and use them in a sentence. - Demonstrate understanding by participating in group activities and discussions. We will read a short but fun and interactive book, in the middle of our class time, in order to ensure mastery of the given topic, and to support students with ideas about their self-created sentences or story of their choice.
